Apple and you.

Yesterday Apple released the 3.1.3 update for iPods and iPhones.

DO NOT UPDATE IF YOU WANT YOUR UNLOCK.

iPhone 3G/3Gs users who don’t care about their unlock can go ahead right now and update and keep their JB using redsn0w from the dev team. 

iPod Touch 1G/old2G can update using redsn0w and still have a JB.

iPod new2G/3G DO NOT update. Period. The iPhone Dev Team is working on the new tool, wait for them to give you the go ahead.

iPhone Unlockers (3G and 3Gs) Don’t update, there is a new baseband update, you WILL lose your jailbreak and MAY NOT be able to unlock your phones for a while

So.. How to jailbreak and unlock the new iPhone OS 3.1.*

Just quickly, I have been swamped by my personal life which is why I haven’t written anything in ages.

Well this Jailbreak is the most simple and the most broad, lets go through what happens and what to do.

First of all, this jailbreak will jailbreak all iDevice models, BUT, the iPhone 3Gs (with the NEW bootrom) will be a tethered jailbreak for the moment, as will the iPod 3rd Generation.

The iPod Touch (1,2) and the iPhone (3G ad old 3Gs) are untethered

The iPod Touch (3) and iPhone (new 3Gs) are tethered

Okay, lets begin.

1. Go to http://www.blackra1n.com

2. Scroll to the bottom on the page and click the icon for your OS (windows or mac)

3. Once downloaded, plug your device into your computer (close out of iTunes as well)

4. Then, open the blackra1n app on you computer and click “Make it ra1n”

5. Wait about 20 seconds and you are Jailbroken! If you have a tethered Jailbreak read 6, else skip to 7.

6. Re-run the Jailbreak to start your device. You will need to do this EVERY TIME you want to turn your device on, so either don’t let it turn off or be prepared with a computer.

7. On your springboard (on your device) there will be a blackra1n symbol, Tap it and download cydia. Don’t use Rock it is shite

8. If you want an unlocked phone, in the blackra1n app there is a button that says “sn0w” this is the unlock program, my phone is unlocked while I am on holiday and I have had no problems with it, some people are reporting loss/no signal etc. You will have to find out for yourself if it works on your device.

9. Open cydia, it will re-orginize and clean some stuff up, then crash and you will need to open it up again and do what you need to in cydia (winterboard, qTweeter,  install0us etc..)

And that, my friends is it. Simple aye?

How To: SSH and a IPA syncing without iTunes (iPhone/iPod) exploit.

RightyHo! We want to SSH to our iPhone/iPods (this is an explorer type view of your iDevice)

NOTE: This includes system files and shit you shouldnt mess around with.

So first we need the ingrediants:

an iPhone/iPod Cable

Okay, so here we go:

liFirst we download a href=http://www.winSCP.net target=_blankWinSCP/a on our computers/li
liGo into Cydia and search for OpenSSH or download SBsettings/li
liOn your iDevice enable SSH (open SBsettings and toggle SSH)/li
liOn your computer open WinSCP./li
liFill out this form: (Note: replace the host section with your iDevices wifi address. Download Installulous first (from the Hackulo.us cydia repo)

liOpen WinSCP and connect like above/li
liGo to /User/Library/Downloads/li
liSimply Paste the IPS files into the download folder/li
liOpen Installulous and install the IPAs from the Download section like you would normally/li

This eliminates the need to sync with iTunes.

NOTE: there is a new program called Installul0us this will change the downloads folder to /User instead.

How to Jailbreak an iPhone (unlock included) and iPod Touch.

Hey!

Okay, so you have a iPhone … but its carrier locked or you want to be able to install apps that your not meant to, eg. Third Party apps or Paid for apps that you dont want to pay for Maybe you just want the freedom of better features before Apple releases them. Or of course maybe you want an iPhone unlock. Well you can.

Its called jailbreaking and it works on every iPhone and iPod Touch Model (thats the iPhone, iPhone 3G and the iPhone 3Gs. iPod 1G 2G!)

This is the way to do it NOTE: This works on Windows and Mac (PS you need an intel Mac so no PowerBooks or PowerPCs sorry!)

1. First make sure you have the latest iPhoneOS (When this is written it is 3.0.1)

2. Once you have the latest OS (3.0.1), download the redsn0w tool.

3. While you do that also download the 3.0 OS (what happened in the 3.0.1 OS update didnt affect any changed the redsn0w program uses to JailBreak your device so it uses the 3.0OS instead )

4. It is pretty much point-and-click from there. Open Redsn0w select the 3.0 OS and click to continue.

5. The program will then customize the .IPSW file (the OS file) and then start to jailbreak your device.

NOTE: This may restart or brick it, DONT worry! you can re-try and restore through iTunes, you CANNOT break the device this is completely safe)

6. The device will reboot and it will be JailBroken!!

Once JailBroken there are a few things you need to do.

Go into Cydia

Tap Manage

Once it has refreshed install Ultrasn0w (the unlocking program) and reboot the iPhone.

Go back into Cydia

Go into the add section again and add: http://cydia.hackulo.us/

Once refreashed install

AppSync will mean your Cracked apps will sync with iTunes

Hackulo.us security will mean your iPhone blocked threats from iPhone virus sites

and Installous will mean you can download cracked apps for free
