  • How to save flash (swf) files from a webpage

Posted on August 24th, 2008 admin 3 comments

Did you know that you can save flash files from any webpage?
Like if you wanted to play your game later, you can do that!
there are countless ways to do so, and I am going to show you how easy it is to save ANY flash file from ANY website..

This does not apply to youtube.com, break.com, and all the other video sharing sites.
I will post a tutorial on that later.

    Another Original Post From AGeniusBlog.com

I am going to show you 3 different ways to save flash files on your pc…

    1. Download software to do it for you

This is the The First, And Most Easiest to do

There are so Many software to do this, I even searched on google, and came up with so many software to save flash from a webpage..

    1.1 Flash Saver
    website: http://www.flash-screen.com/flashsaver/

     alt=

I personally Haven’t Used This Software Before, but it looks great.

1.2 Get a Mozilla Firefox Extension

    1.2.1 Download Embedded

    Website: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1993

I have used this program for quite a while now, and have had no problems with it..

I have heard that it had problems with opening pdf files in your browser, so I am unsure of how usefull this product is.

    1.3 Internet Explorer Plugins

    1.3.1 Aevita Save Flash 1.5

    Homepage http://www.aevita.com

It seems that their site is down at the moment, so I can;t give a full review, but I have looked at reviews on other sites, and it looks like a promising product.

    2. D.I.Y Do It Yourself!

This is where the advanced users will come, in, when they don’t want to download any other software, because it will slow down their pc.

2.1 Firstly go to the page where you want to save the flash file from, I will be demonstrating from http://www.albino black sheep.com (sorry about the spaces)
2.2 Type CTRL+U (noobs, if you don’t know hat this means, rather stick with step 1)
2.3 Type CTRL+A and Then CTRL+C (Right Click -> Select All, Right click Copy)
2.4 Paste in a new notepad document.
    It should Look like this:

2.5 Scroll to the top of the pasted code, left click just before the first character comes.
2.6 Type CTRL+F and type in swf
2.7 Look for the file extension as swf eg. ageniusblog.swf, not swfimage.jpg
2.8 Make sure that its not a broken link eg, when I searched for the flash file on notepad, it showed this:

    <object type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” data=”/flash06/Waldo(www.albinoblacksheep.com).swf” width=”575″ height=”550″ id=”video”>

2.9 Be sure that you paste the /flash06/Waldo(www.albinoblacksheep.com).swf on what website you were browsing. eg. my site was http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/
I am going to paste /flash06/Waldo(www.albinoblacksheep.com).swf after that url.
    like this:
    http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash06/Waldo(www.albinoblacksheep.com).swf
3.0 When you are sure that it is that, paste it into the browser bar.
3.1 If it shows something like “save to pc” click that.
3.2 If it goes full screen, do this:
3.2.1 Make a new text document. and copy this:

    <a href=”LINK TO FLASH FILE”>Save To My Pc now!</a>

3.2.2 Copy the Link to the flash file over the LINK TO FLASH FILE, but make sure you didn’t paste over the quotation marks

3.2.3 Click file -> Save as and type flash.html on the file name like this:

3.2.4 Save, and Double Click On The Saved File

3.2.5 Right Click On “Save To My Pc now!” and click “Save Link As”

3.2.6 And Click Save Again. The Default Saving Pace should be on your desktop

  • Stored Passwords In Firefox

Posted on August 8th, 2008 admin No comments

    Article From xptricks.net

There is a severe security risk in Firefox, that most people aren’t even aware of. All the passwords stored or “remembered” in the browser are accessible to anyone who happens to get on their computer (both physically or with hacking tools). Just try this in Firefox:Show saved passwords - xptricks.net

    1. Go to Tools -> Options and select the Security tab.
    2. Press the Show Passwords button in the middle-right of the window.
    3. You should now see a list of sites and your usernames stored. Press Show Passwords again.

See what I mean? Anyone who has access to your computer could have a pretty good “look” at those…

The way to protect yourself from this danger, is to either use a special software such as KeePass to store passwords, or to use Firefox’s own Master Password option (MPW). To enable it, go back to the Security tab in the Options window and check the box Use a master password. Set the Master Password and you’re a lot safer!

Now, every time you start your browser and log in somewhere, Firefox will ask for the Master Password. You won’t be asked for it any more. It will also ask the MPW when trying to view saved passwords the way I explained earlier or when doing anything else with your personal data. This tool will really help you in remembering passwords, as I hope every one of yours is different… Or it’d better be…

A bad guy can also use a plugin or script to view saved passwords in Internet Explorer, but there is no Master Password tool to protect yourself with. Another point for Firefox.

Posted on July 28th, 2008 admin 2 comments

Okay… Your Favorite Plugin Not Working?
Here Is a Work-Around to make your favorite plugin work

Just to let you know, I thought of this up myself when I was bored.. lol

Here Are My Plugins That Didn’t Work For Firefox 3.0.1

OneClick Installer – Plugin for Wordpress, Allows you to upload files, without ftp. I use it on this blog (www.ageniusblog.com)
Autocopy – copies text when typing a hotkey eg A

    Here Are The Steps:

{1} Okay First Things First, Download & Install WinRAR.

{2] Go To the Plugin Download Page

{3} Where It Says “Add To Firefox” Right Click, Save Link as, Save anywhere

A 14 Year Old Genius Blog

A 14 Year Old Genius Blog

{4} Go to the directory where you saved the file, Double Click, And Click Choose Program (If You already have a program assosiated with this extension, Right click, Open with)

{5} Of Course, you must click WinRAR to open the files with, unless you are retarded

{6} Look for install.rdf, click it, and click “extract to” and give a directory to extract to

{7} Open install.rdf in notepad of wordpad, and look for something like this:

    <em:minVersion>1.5</em:minVersion>
    <em:maxVersion>2.0.0.*</em:maxVersion>

    {8} Change  <em:maxVersion>2.0.0.*</em:maxVersion> to  <em:maxVersion>3.0.1.*</em:maxVersion>

{9} You Are Nearly Done!  Open the firefox addon that you downloaded earlier, and drag install.rtf (modified one) to WinRAR

{10} Close WinRAR, right Click On The Addon, Open with -> Firefox

    You Are Done!
