    Hey guys at AGB

Just dropped by, haven’t got time to write a post :(

    Original post from:

    http://www.kishan.info/make-mozilla-firefox-look-like-google-chrome

Google’s new web browser Chrome provides a very clean theme and it is very simple to use. If you want the same theme and interface in Mozilla Firefox then follow the tutorial.

For those you are using Windows XP, follow this tutorial:-

    1. Download these add-ons and install them:-

Chrome PackageDownload StatusbarautoHideStatusbarHide MenubarGoogle Toolbar 5Locationbar2Prism

    2. Close Firefox and goto “%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\extensions\{3112ca9c-de6d-4884-a869-9855de68056c}\chrome” (xxxxxxxx is a random string of characters. Just type “%appdata%” in the run dialog box and follow the path)

    3. Now replace “google-toolbar.jar” with this file.

That’s it now your Mozilla Firefox will look exactly like Google Chrome.

For those who are using Windows Vista or 7, just download and install only this addon and it will install all the necessary add-ons. You will get the following screenshot after installation:

  • Confiker Virus: A not so funny April Fools Joke

Posted on May 15th, 2009 admin No comments

Well nearly every April fools, some stupid Virus releases, gives hell to your pc, and you hate it.

    worm

I was watching a news article on TV3 (NZ) About this “Confiker” Virus and what it does.
Apparently this viruses hacks into social networks, (and other websites) like Facebook, sends you messages which “apparently” come from your friend. It links you to a website, saying something like “Look, I caught you on video!” You, click it and It takes your information, stored passwords, keystrokes, etc.

It seems to have actually released before april, as a dud, but as I hear, it was awaiting instructions from the hackers to trigger to activate on April 1st.

    How many PC’s were infected?

From what I heard on the article, it was about 10 million! Scary

  • Make a PDF e-book from any text file using Open Office

Posted on May 8th, 2009 admin No comments

    Original article at http://flagrantdisregard.com/howto-make-a-pdf-e-book-from-any-text-file-using-open-office/

I’ve been looking around for a good text reading application for my desktop computer so that I can comfortably read books. All I wanted was an application that would open plain text files, show them to me with nice margins and easy to read type, allow me to customize the font, background, and foreground colors, let me move forward and backwards by pages, and remember where I was at so I could pick up reading later easily.

I found a couple but wasn’t happy with any of them. Then I thought, why not PDF? PDF readers like Adobe Reader (Windows) and Evince (Linux) are free and support most of the features I want. And it turns out that creating a PDF book version of a text file is really easy. Here’s how:

    1. Get Open Office. It’s a free, open-source office suite similar to Microsoft Office. Technically, you could use any PDF creation tool but I like Open Office because it’s very easy to use.
    2. Start Open Office Writer and open your plain text file.
    3. Select Format Page and change the following:
      - Paper size: 5×7 inches
      - Margins: 0 all around
      - Header: 0.5 inches
      - Footer: 0.5 inches
      - Background: black
    4. Click OK
    5. Select all text (Ctrl-A). Change the font and text color to something pleasing that will prevent eye strain. I like a medium dark color on a black background.
    6. Export PDF. Choose the option to open the PDF file in full screen mode.

You’re done! When you open the PDF file, it should open in full screen with the text nicely centered. Depending on your reader, you may have some paging controls but if you don’t then the Page Up/Down keys on your keyboard will probably do what you want. It’s perfect.

The only other thing you’ll want to change is the “remember last position” preference in Adobe Reader. Choose “For any PDF document” and it will remember where you were in any book you convert in this way.
