    video-website

    Hey everyone at AGeniusBlog.com

I was browsing the web for youtube scripts (to make my own youtube-like site)
Problem was that these scripts didn’t work on most hosts, because It needed this database installed into the server.
A month later (now) I found a great website which allows you to make this for free, no uploading scripts required! This is called Fliggo

You can use Fliggo to create video blogs, private video networks or a niche video site – the choice is yours.
The service is beautifully designed and Fliggo allows you to customize the look and feel of your video site so it can be beautiful too!

So go on and make your site now! It’s free, fun and easy to use!

  • Windows 3.1 Running on Nokia N95

Posted on April 11th, 2009 admin 7 comments

Hey Visitors and Members at AGeniusBlog.com

I was stumbling across websites for my phone to download stuff, and arrived on a website showing how to install Windows 3.1 on your mobile
Unlike the lack of support, due to the instructions being in polish, I managed to install Windows 3.1 on my N95 with hours of googling, yet no help.
So I decided to post my very own tutorial on how to do so!

    • I don’t wana remove Symbian off my phone!

LOL you don’t have to! This runs only when you open dosbox, and you can exit anytime!

    • What Exactly Happens?

Windows is run by DosBox s60, an MS-DOS emulator for Symbian ,and Camila is used during the process

    • Why “Windows” on my N95?

It’s the experience of having Windows on your phone, that will be the envy of your friends!
You can run various programs eg. paint, clock, calculator, task manager, freecell etc
It’s another reason why the N95 rocks!

    • Who made this?

Bill Gates! lol. Well no one really made this (besides the dosbox team)
but there was one Polish man who thought of the idea of it and Tried it on his phone.
    His release was at: http://www.frazpc.pl/b/232621

    • Any Defects/side effects?

Well there are a few, as Windows 3.1 was meant for a 640×480 screen, we are trying to run it on a 320×240 screen, which causes alot of pixel loss.

    • How can I fix that?

although I haven’t bothered, I have heard if you go to the dosbox.conf, you would find the variable:

    oversize=shrink
    change it to:
    oversize=page

    • Any Pics?

    Here they are:

(from my phone, used screenshot app)

    screenshot0004

    screenshot0002

You can see what it says easily, but you can’t
really on your phone, due to lost pixels

    screenshot0005
xD lol my phone didn’t have enough RAM for 2 programs to run at once, without going to task manager! lol
As you can see, there are alot of missing pixels, for instanse, “s” looks like a “x” on the program.

    Here are the original pics:

    • Ok, so where can I download this?

    Here:

    http://rapidshare.com/files/203242126/win3.1_on_s60v3.part1.rar

    http://rapidshare.com/files/203293268/win3.1_on_s60v3.part2.rar

    Password: huseyin

    • How do I Install this?

As I mentioned before, Install dosbox (included in rar archive)

    1. Unpack ‘DOSBox_s60.rar’ archive to your Memory Card Just open the RAR with winrar, install dosbox with Nokia PC Suite
    2. Install all dependencies (located in the “install” directory of the dosbox file)
    3. Try to install DOSBox_Full.sisx
    4. If it says:  ‘Not enough memory’ install ‘DOSBox_Slim.sisx’ and replace previous version.
    5. Unpack ‘Win3.1-on-s60_v1.1.rar’ archive to your Memory Card.

Remember to use the “Data transfer mode” not PC Suite mode, and it will read “removable disk” on My computer and unpack to e:\data

    windows1

  • Run DOSBox.
  • How to Run Norton Commander?

open dosbox.conf (with notepad) and paste this at the end of  the doc:
Note: the hashes (#) are there for the program to ignore that command line, so just remove the #
    # Loader 1 — Windows 3.1
    # mount a e:\Data\win31\ (To install more drivers)*
    # mount c e:\Data\
    # mount d e:\
    # c:
    # c:\Windows\win.com

    # Loader 2 — Norton Commander 5.0
    mount c e:\Data\
    mount d e:\
    c:

Nothing works! I tried to install dosbox, but it doesn’t open or say anything!

Don’t worry, Firstly you’ll have to check that you have installed all the dependancies (the ones for dosbox)

Secondly you probably don’t have enough RAM, close the backround processes to do so (hold menu key, and click “c” to exit the other programs)

Thirdly, change the “memsize” variable to 2 or 4 in the dosbox.conf file

**Also Use the Call key to change from the mouse and keyboard**

As you know, you probably have went to on internet cafe, or school, and I bet they wouldn’t let you install anything on the pc’sdue to administrator privlages.
    Well here’s an alternative.

You can download Portableapps on your pc, transfer it to your flash drive, etc.

Here’s how to make Skype portable  (without downloading anything if you already got it)
    1. Look for Skype.exe where you installed it
    (Usually C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe )
    2. Copy the Skype.exe file to your USB Drive (I’m using my desktop for example)
    skype
    3. In that new directory create a directory called “data”
    4. Click Start -> Run -> and type in “notepad”
    5. Type in:

    skype.exe /datapath:”Data” /removable
    6. Click File -> Save as and type in skype.bat

    And your’e Done!
